My Portfolio

StarSwipe

StarSwipe is a top-down space shooter that I created in the winter of 2010 using XNA Game Studio.

In the game, you destroy asteroids and collect "Gemeralds" to earn cash. The money that you earn can be used to buy bigger, more powerful ships or to equip your ship with weapons and upgrades.

During each mission, you must manage your ship's power levels for weapons, shields, and engines. You can do this via in in-game menu to allocate your ship's limited resources to the three systems. Buying upgrades at the shop will give you a passive boost to these abilities as well.

StarSwipe is a Windows-only game that you can download here.

GaiaTech

GaiaTech is a 3D Real-Time Strategy game for the Xbox 360 that I created with a team of fellow students for the Microsoft Imagine Cup 2010.

You take control of the leader of one of two factions, the Scientists and the Industrialists, who are trying to respectively save or destroy the forest. You lead your followers into confrontation with the opposing faction, using special abilities to give them an edge. By capturing "Grow Spots" across the map, your influence grows, and more followers flock to your cause.

Unfortunately, the game was somewhat plagued with performance issues, and needed a good deal more polish. However, it was a good first attempt for me and my team at creating a unique gaming experience.
